Tobago Cays back to Grenada 2016

3/4/2016 We headed out at a reasonable hour (0800) with Aviva to sail to the Tobago Cays. We made it to the Cays a bit after noon and anchored near Jamesby Island. We made water and went snorkeling for the next couple of days. We saw LOTS of fish this time and got to see some turtles. We had dinner with Fred and Dorothy, enjoying some of her homemade quesadillas.

3/6/2016 We motor-sailed out of the Tobago Cays, navigating carefully through the reefs and set a course for Petit St. Vincent. We passed a beautiful schooner, the Royal Clipper on the way. We tacked around the reef north of PSV and sailed into the harbor area. We dropped sails and anchored just off the beach bar. This was our first time at PSV and we enjoyed a bit of snorkeling and had a sundowner at the beach bar. This is definitely a resort island and the prices reflect that but it was fun for a day.

Time to relax after a hard day of sailing and snorkeling

3/7/2016 We left Petit St. Vincent the next morning and sailed on a run and then turned onto a reach to Clifton on Union Island so we could check out of  SVG and then headed out for Tyrell Bay, Carriacou. We had light winds and could only make 4 knots on a broad reach. We got into Tyrell Bay about 1300 and dropped anchor and went to check in. The next day we left in early morning and headed to Grenada. The wind died about 10:30 and we had to motor-sail the rest of the way. We tried fishing but only caught a small barracuda which we released. We got into Mt. Hartman Bay about 2:15 and anchored.

Just in the 4 months we have been gone, we noticed several changes. Secret Harbor has opened their new laundry. YEAHHH!!! There are more mooring balls in the harbor, making it harder to find an anchoring spot. We spent the next  couple of weeks thoroughly cleaning the boat and preparing to go home. We took the boat around to Clarke's Court and had it hauled on the 29th. We spent 2 nights in a little apartment while we finished the clean-up and took the cushions off the boat to be re-covered. We put out the Damp-Rid, put cloves and bay leaves in the cabinets and stuffed steel wool in all the thru-hulls and sprayed the tie-down straps with insecticide. Then it was off to the airport on the 31st.

Getting ready to haul us out

The guys operating the lift are amazing!

Looks like we have a lot of bottom cleaning to do

Always makes me nervous when they lift our boat
